Adding Additional Link Numbers (Desktop)

What it is: A Template Tools function that inserts new link-number categories into the Annual Financial Statements so that more granular account groupings can be linked and reported.

What it's for

The standard Draftworx template includes a pre-built set of link numbers covering the most common balance sheet and income statement categories. If a client has account types that do not fit those categories, you can add extra link numbers through the Template Tools menu. This gives you new rows on the relevant financial statement note or schedule, into which you can then link the accounts from the Working Trial Balance.

How to do it

  1. On the Working Trial Balance screen, select Template Tools.
  2. Select Add Links.
  3. Choose the Annual Financial Statement section where you want to add the new link.
  4. Use the green filter bar (Description column) to search for the relevant link category.
  5. Select the correct link category from the results.
  6. Select Apply All Selected Updates.
  7. Read and acknowledge the notice by selecting OK.
  8. Enter the Manager Password when prompted, then select Apply All Selected Updates again.
    • If you do not have the Manager Password, the firm's partner can request it from Draftworx Support.
  9. Allow a few seconds for the process to complete.
  10. Confirm the success notice and select OK.
  11. The new link numbers appear on the Annual Financial Statements and are available for account linking.

Follow the same steps above, but begin from the Annual Financial Statements screen by selecting Template Tools then Add Links.
